A new report has revealed that Real Madrid and head coach Carlo Ancelotti have reached a âverbal agreementâ over his imminent exit from the Spanish giants.
Ancelotti has added to his reputation since returning to Real Madrid for a second spell as manager in 2021, winning the Champions League and La Liga twice.
However, the veteran boss has been heavily criticised this season as Real Madrid have massively underperformed and are set to finish the campaign without a trophy.
Real Madrid suffered an early exit from the Champions League and they are four points adrift of table-toppers FC Barcelona in La Liga with four games remaining.

Ancelotti is under contract until 2026, but itâs been widely reported in recent months that he will be replaced this summer and it was revealed on Monday afternoon that his exit has been âagreedâ.
A report from The Athletic confirms a âverbal agreementâ has been reached regarding Ancelottiâs departure from Real Madrid with âconversationsâ nearing a conclusion.
It is noted that talks have centred around âhis salary for the remaining year of his contract at the Bernabeuâ, but this issue has been overcome and an âannouncement is expected before the end of the seasonâ.

It is even suggested that his departure could be announced shortly after Sundayâs El Clasico against Barcelona. Regarding Real Madridâs list of potential replacements, the report adds:
âMadrid must then decide who will lead the team at the Club World Cup with Xabi Alonso the leading external option and director of football Santiago Solari seen as better placed than Castillaâs Raul Gonzalez or Juvenil Aâs Alvaro Arbeloa as an internal choice.
âBayer Leverkusen head coach Alonso is Madridâs preferred choice to replace Ancelotti.â
The report has also revealed the current situation regarding Ancelottiâs chances of landing the Brazil job.
âAncelotti has been described by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) as âthe presidentâs (Ednaldo Rodriguesâ) dreamâ, and he has been in talks with the CBF since March.
âHe had been expected to sign his contract with Brazil when he met with CBF representatives in London on April 28, but the move subsequently stalled. It was necessary for Ancelotti to reach a definitive agreement with Madrid before he could sign with Brazil. That is expected soon so he can be in place for Juneâs World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
âThe Italian had other options beyond Brazil and received concrete interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, while he could also have remained at Madrid in a non-coaching role, as per the terms of his 2023 contract extension.â
