Dan Evans has been a stalwart for British tennis for more than a decade.
While Andy Murray led the way, the 35-year-old has always played his role in helping to bolster tennis in his country in an exemplary manner.
Evans has two singles titles to his name and he helped Britain win the Davis Cup for the first time in three decades.
The ATP Tour veteran is now ranked outside the top 100 and he is aiming for a strong run at Queen’s, with the hope of receiving a wildcard to compete at Wimbledon.

Cam Norrie thinks Dan Evans deserves a wildcard to compete at Wimbledon
Dan Evans has been a role model to many young British tennis players.
This is something former British number one Cam Norrie alluded to during a press conference at the Queen’s Club Championships.
He described Evans as an inspiration and believes Wimbledon should offer the former World number 21 a wildcard to compete at his home Grand Slam.
“When I was in juniors and he was training around and he was coming up the ranks, he was always a big inspiration to me, very relatable,” Norrie said.
“For me, yeah, for me he deserves one. If I was giving the wildcards, I’d give him one. Yeah, he’s obviously one of my favorite players to watch when he’s moving well and playing like that.
“If I was going to watch Wimbledon as a fan, I would like to go watch Dan. I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t get one.”

Dan Evans claimed his first win at Queen’s since 2021 after beating Frances Tiafoe
Evans commenced his grass court season on the ATP Tour at the Libema Open.
He came through the qualifying rounds and beat Rinky Hijikata in the main draw before losing to Ugo Humbert.
Evans carried this momentum into Queen’s where he upset Frances Tiafoe 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the round of 16 and win his first match at the tournament since 2021.
Norrie said he was delighted to see Evans claim a big victory and enjoys the style of play he brings to the court. “I think the win today was well-deserved, and I think he enjoyed that one a lot,” Norrie added.
“It was nice to see him enjoying the tennis a lot today. For me, yeah, for me he deserves one. If I was giving the wildcards, I’d give him one.
“He’s obviously one of my favorite players to watch when he’s moving well and playing like that. I came out on the balcony today and watched him.
“I think he was serving for the first set. That 6-5 game, he had an unreal long rally, and he won that one. It was so good to see him chipping the backhand, hitting over the backhand. Moving around, coming in, finishing at the net.”
