Alexander Bublik has rocked the tennis world with his recent form, and Sunday’s Halle Open victory proves he has no plans to slow down.
The Kazakh player has enjoyed a stunning period of success in recent weeks. Bublik defeated Jack Draper on his way to the French Open quarter-finals before winning the Halle Open in Germany.
Bublik defeated number three seed Daniil Medvedev 6-3 7-6 to clinch the title.
Following the final, tennis fans have had a lot to say about Bublik and his Wimbledon chances.

Fans name Alexander Bublik as Wimbledon ‘dark horse’
One fan rushed to X to say: “With this form he is definitely a dark horse at Wimbledon,” while another added: “He’s so good when he’s on it, hope he gets a good run at Wimbledon cause he’s certainly capable of it.”
Another fan noted an improvement in Bublik’s consistency, saying: “The truth is he’s a top contender for Wimbledon. Showing the consistency that he lacked for much of his career.”
Another said: “Hopefully he will continue to play like this. Easily one of the [most] talented players when he is locked in. A top six favourite for Wimbledon this year.”
Following his victory, Bublik sank to his knees and put his head in his hands while appearing visibly emotional.
Bublik beat Jannik Sinner, Tomas Machac and Karen Khachanov on his way to the title.
Another fan added: “Watch out for him at Wimbledon.. an outside bet for the title?”
One fan issued a clear warning to the competition, saying: “Bublik is on mad form right now. Beware of him at Wimbledon.”
Daniil Medvedev hopes Bublik is in Carlos Alcaraz’s side of the Wimbledon draw
Despite the loss, Medvedev was in a joking mood after he received his runners-up accolade.
He said: “Big congrats to you and your team, I hope you are in Carlos’ draw in Wimbledon. Maybe we have a sensation in the third or fourth round.
“Continue playing like this and again please Carlos or Jannik draw in Wimbledon.”
The former US Open winner, ranked 11 in the world before the tournament, will hope to bounce back at Wimbledon. He made the semi-finals last year, before losing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
