Sure, a front-row seat at AAMI Park to watch the game live would be helpful, but the next-best thing has to be finding a spot along Swan Street to park yourself and cast your eyes on the derby.

English friends Liam and Lewis are watching the match on an iPhone propped up against a cutlery stand. They tried to get into one of the packed pubs showing the game, but unfortunately, they had no luck.

“We like football, but when we came to Australia, we had to pick a team, so we just chose Victory, Lewis said.

“We’d prefer it if Victory won tonight. We tried getting tickets to watch, but it sold out.”

The pair are ready to join in on any post-game celebrations, but Victory has a bit of a task ahead, trailing City 0-1 at half-time.

Police have already taken their positions outside the pubs, possibly preparing for whatever might unfold after the game.
