After winning the Citi Open Alex de Minaur has made it clear what he wants to do at the US Open.
The Australian is flying high after he claimed the 10th ATP Tour title of his career in Washington D.C.
De Minaur beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Washington, who was crestfallen after failing to win his first trophy despite having multiple championship points.
There is still time before the tour heads to New York for the US Open, but De Minaur has made a request for both himself and his fiancé and fellow tennis player, Katie Boulter.

Alex de Minaur is engaged to Boulter, the WTA’s world number 43 and British number two.
They follow other couples on the tennis circuit, such as Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina, who married in 2021.
The pair played together in the Tie Break Tens tournament prior to the Indian Wells Masters, and now it seems they want to team up again.
The US Open changed their mixed doubles competition format by announcing it would take place in the week prior to the singles tournament starting.
Sixteen teams will take part, with eight receiving direct entry into the tournament, while six teams were offered wildcards.
Two wildcards have yet to be announced and De Minaur has asked if one can be given to him and Boulter. “Katie and I would like to ask for a WC pretty pretty please,” the 26-year-old wrote to the US Open on X.

De Minaur told fans of his desire to play in the US Open mixed doubles tournament since he started his Washington Open campaign.
After winning his opening match in America’s capital city against Yunchaokete Bu, De Minaur said he wanted a US Open wildcard to enter the revamped event.
“Yeah, I mean, we’d be definitely asking for a wildcard, and we’re definitely hoping for a wildcard. I think, you know, yeah, why not give a little bit of love to a tennis couple?,” he said.
“You know, we have been going strong. It’s been what, five years already, getting married next year. I think we’re showing that there is good chemistry between us.
“I think some of the other partnerships, they haven’t really said a word to each other in their lives, right? At least we kind of know each other, so we can hopefully show some good chemistry and hopefully play some good matches there.”
