According to reports, Arsenal have been âpicked over Manchester United and Chelseaâ as they have âgood newsâ regarding their pursuit of a new striker.
The Gunners earmarked Sesko as a leading target during last yearâs summer transfer window as they were in the market for a new striker.
Despite this, Arsenal missed out on the Slovenia international, who decided to commit himself to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for another year.
Arsenal decided against signing an alternative and this leaves them short on attacking options. With Gabriel Jesus injured, Kai Havertz is Mikel Artetaâs only centre-forward option.
It has been reported that Jesusâ injury could force the Gunners to âbring forward transfer plansâ and they are actively scouring the market for a new forward this month.

Speaking on Friday, head coach Arteta admitted they are âworking onâ signings before the transfer window closes.
âWe lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus,â he said. âWe lack goals, we lack people and we lack options. Itâs clear.
âIf we can get the right player thatâs why we are actively looking at it. We are working on it, yes.â
Asked if he will have to wait until the summer to sign a striker, Arteta replied: âYou have certain resources, the ability to recruit certain players, develop certain players, use certain players from the academy.
âItâs a balance of what we can do.â
Sesko is one of the best young strikers in Europe and heâs been in sensational form this season, grabbing 14 goals and three assists in his 26 appearances.

Earlier this week, a report claimed Arsenal are âclosing inâ on Sesko as Arteta is making a âbig pushâ for this transfer ânowâ.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has provided a âbetter newsâ update on Sesko, who has âpicked Arsenal over Man Utd and Chelseaâ.
He said:Â âThe good news for Arsenal is that they have a number of concrete summer targets so there is a logic of escalating the pursuit of some of them for January.
âItâs whether theyâre feasible, these targets are difficult to get in the market.
âWith Benjamin Sesko, some contact has been made with Leipzig to understand whether anything is possible.
âThereâs no release cause in his new contract and the player is very keen on his own development to make sure he doesnât rush a move.
âEven though Leipzig are out of the Champions League, theyâre pushing in the cup and to qualify again next season.
âItâs not impossible but itâs difficult and theyâll want to protect the relationship with Leipzig if theyâre to revisit it in the summer.
âThe better news for Arsenal is that last summer when the project was pitched from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United, Sesko picked Arsenal and then made a secondary choice of whether it was now or to stay at Leipzig.
âItâs going to take a crazy offer or be impossible in January because Leipzigâs position is very firm.â
