After completing the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal will reportedly âmove swiftlyâ for Crystal Palaceâs Eberechi Eze, with the potential ÂŖ68million transfer ânot contingent on player salesâ.
Arsenal are finally set to sign a striker, with Gyokeres having landed in London for his medical after a ÂŖ64million agreement with Sporting CP.
The Gunners have been crying out for an out-and-out centre-forward over the last three seasons and will surely benefit from signing such a prolific player.
Gyokeres will be Mikel Arteta and Andrea Bertaâs sixth summer signing after Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard.

Signing number seven could be Crystal Palace and England attacker Eze, and a report from The Independent says Arsenal donât need to sell to fund a deal.
Indeed, transfer journalist Miguel Delaney says the Gunners have âramped upâ their bid to sign Eze, whose âfirst choiceâ is Palaceâs London rivals.
The aim for the Premier League title hopefuls is to âswiftly move to secureâ the 27-year-old once Gyokeres is through the door.
Gyokeres has âlanded in Londonâ for his medical, which means sporting director Berta can âturn his attention to other targetsâ.
Ezeâs camp are âconfident a deal will be done in the next few weeksâ and Arsenal âhope to agree a fee that comes to ÂŖ60mâ, though there is a ÂŖ68m release clause in the playerâs contract.

Any agreement that isnât his release clause will have to be âon terms that are also amenable to Palaceâ and itâs previously been reported that the Gunners hoped to constuct a deal âsplit into three instalments of ÂŖ20mâ.
Arsenal and the Eagles arenât in âformal contactâ yet but the two clubs have âgood relationsâ and âboth will be flexibleâ in negotiations.
Artetaâs sideâs âpreferenceâ is to sell a player before they buy Eze, however, âthe signing is not contingent on thatâ.
Interestingly, the report adds that winger Reiss Nelson âcould be included in any dealâ with a swap deal mooted.
Arsenal sold Eddie Nketiah to their London rivals last summer for ÂŖ30m and sent Rob Holding to Selhurst Park for ÂŖ3.5m in the 2023 summer window â six months after loaning out Sambi Lokonga.
The last player Arsenal signed from Palace? Why, Eddie McGoldrick in 1993, of course.
