Australian Open: Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka named top seeds

Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka were named as the top-seeded players for the year’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open, which begins from Sunday at Melbourne Park. The draws for the Australian Open will be made on Thursday.

Behind Alcaraz, two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner is the second seed while Alexander Zverev is third and 10-time champion in Melbourne, Novak Djokovic, finds himself in fourth.

Sabalenka, Iga Świątek and Coco Gauff are the top three seeds in the women’s draw for the second consecutive year.

Madison Keys returns as the defending champion and the ninth-seeded player, one of four American women among the top 10 seeds.
