Innings Bangladesh 346 and 372 for 7 dec (Litton 102, Shanto 82, Mushfiqur 81, Mehidy52*, Saleem 2-69, Zia 2-86, Ahmadzai 2-96) lead Afghanistan 240 by 478 runs
Litton reached his landmark shortly after the lunch break. He went to 98 with a powerful pull through square leg, followed by a guide through backward point that got him to the three-figure mark.
He had scored a half-century in Bangladesh’s first innings and effected five dismissals in the first Afghanistan innings, making it a profitable time for him individually.
The day’s first session was all about Litton’s gorgeous strokeplay and Afghanistan missing chance after chance. Litton was reprieved on 14, 26 and 67. First, his edge burst through Shahidullah’s hands in the slips, and Qais dropped a return catch not long after.
On the third day, Bangladesh had reached 223 for 6 following two clusters of three wickets each, on either side of a 159-run fourth-wicket stand. Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain Shanto put on that big partnership, with 81 and 82 respectively. Both got out towards the end of the day’s play, although they had done enough for Bangladesh to keep the advantage.
