Cameron Norrie is continuing his strong run at Wimbledon on the North American hard courts.
The 30-year-old reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time since 2022 and reminded everyone of the quality he possesses.
He has made the quick transition to the United States and he is aiming for glory at the Citi Open in the nation’s capital of Washington D.C.
Norrie took on Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti for a spot in the last 16 and he was at his resilient best against the Olympic bronze medallist.

Cameron Norrie ended 14-match losing streak against top 10 players by beating Lorenzo Musetti in Washington
Cameron Norrie found life difficult against Musetti, a player he had never beaten before their clash at the Citi Open.
He lost the first set and faced 11 break points. But Norrie saved nine of them, including three from 0-40 down at 2-2 in the third set.
But Norrie battled back from the brink to claim a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory and in the process defeat Musetti for the first time.
Furthermore, Norrie ended a streak of 14 successive defeats to top 10 players, while Musetti lost his second successive opening round match.
“I had to really get fired up at some moments and it was all happening very quickly,” Norrie said post-match.
“I was just trying to bring my energy and I managed to do that and raise it in the start of the second set. And then you start gaining momentum, and I got a lot of confidence in the third.”

Who will Cameron Norrie play next?
Norrie will contest the Citi Open round of 16 match against Brandon Nakashima.
The American beat compatriot Ethan Quinn to reach the fourth round and this will be the pair’s first meeting since 2022.
Nakashima claimed their first encounter 7-5, 6-2 at the Delray Beach Open in 2020, before Norrie took control of their rivalry.
He won their 2021 Los Cabos match in straight sets, before repeating the feat in Eastbourne and Canada in 2022.
Nakashima has only beaten Norrie on home soil and he will have the chance to do so again in Washington, but Norrie will be very difficult to beat.
