Emma Navarro has a theory for the shock early exits at Wimbledon so far.
After just two rounds of competition at the All-England Club, some of the game’s best and highest-ranked players have already gone through the exit door.
In fact, half of the current WTA top 10 are already out of Wimbledon but that does not include Navarro, the world number 10.
The American has looked very strong throughout her opening two matches at SW19, but she does not intend on stopping there.

Emma Navarro thinks she knows why the top players are struggling at Wimbledon
Navarro has played a full grass court season and has two quarter-final appearances at Queen’s and Bad Homburg to her name.
She has taken that form into the Wimbledon Championships where she has reached the third round without dropping a set.
The same cannot be said for some of her peers, with the likes of Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini, who are all out of the tournament.
For the first time since 2018 only one top-five player remains in the draw, and that is world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

When commenting on the number of seeded players that have fallen, Navarro suggested: “I’m not sure really. I feel like the grass is, I don’t know, nothing wrong with the grass. Yeah, it was hot for a couple of days, but I think a lot of us are equipped to handle it, for sure.
“This time of year it’s getting towards the second half of the season, and for a lot of players it’s a lot of tournaments in a row, and it’s a pretty long stint in Europe. Even if you go home for a couple of weeks, you kind of feel like you’ve been playing a lot.
“Wimbledon is sort of the end of a long few months in Europe. So maybe that has something to do with it. I’m not sure, but yeah, can’t really tell you.”

Emma Navarro reaches the Wimbledon third round with fewest games lost
Navarro has been ruthless through her first two matches at Wimbledon.
She faced two-time champion Petra Kvitova in the opening round, who was playing at the grass court major for the last time.
Her final match at SW19 did not last long as Navarro sealed a 6-3, 6-1 win to set up a clash against Veronika Kudermetova.
Navarro played the Russian on court three and as she did in round one, wasted little time wrapping up a 6-1, 6-2 victory on Thursday.
Navarro has yet to win a Grand Slam, but she is looking dangerous at Wimbledon and she will be a tough match for anybody.
