Faisal Halim shines as Red Giants overpower Imigresen FC

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Imigresen FC (IFC) continued their run of misfortune after falling 1-3 to Selangor FC in their Super League match at the Stadium Negeri Baru Kawan, Georgetown, this evening.

The Red Giants displayed an energetic performance from the start with several dangerous attempts on goal, but both sides failed to break the deadlock in the first half.

In the second half, Selangor FC wasted no time opening the scoring through a powerful strike by Dutch import Alvin Fortes in the 56th minute.

The goal stemmed from a slick move by team captain Faisal Halim, who delivered a cross to an unmarked Fortes, allowing him to easily beat goalkeeper Muhammad Farhan Abdul Majid.

Stung by the goal, IFC intensified their attacks, and their efforts paid off when import striker Eduardo Sossa equalised in the 66th minute.

However, the hosts’ joy was short-lived, as just a minute later (67’), Selangor FC forward Chrigor Flores Moraes struck to restore their lead.

Faisal Halim then capped off a splendid evening for Selangor FC with their third goal in the 71st minute. — Bernama
