IND vs AUS 1st ODI Match Date, Time: It is time for high-octane white-ball cricket yet again as India take on Australia in their first ODI assignment since clinching the Champions Trophy title earlier this year.

There is a change of guard, to Shubman Gill. But all the focus in the Indian contingent will inevitably fall on his predecessors, two of the format’s greatest batters in Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. While experts have opined that the start in Perth may not suit to the senior pros on their first set of competitive games in four months, it will be worth every second to have the stalwarts back on the scene for Indian cricket and what they’ve got to offer in the twilight setting of their careers.

Key player to watch out for: Shreyas Iyer is arguably the most in-form white-ball batter of the year in Indian cricket, especially in the 50-overs format. Having topped the charts in the Champions Trophy and more recently struck a century and a half-century against Australia A in Kanpur, it will be interesting to see how he faces up to the pace and bounce in Perth.

Key player to watch out for: Mitchell Marsh has been brilliant form in the white-ball set-up. In their last ODI, albeit after a series defeat, Marsh cracked a century against South Africa and so did the rest of the Aussie top-order. Marsh also whipped up a special ton in a T20I chase against New Zealand and could pose problems to the relatively inexperienced Indian seam attack.
