Mumbai Indians on Tuesday announced three major replacement signings as they continue to remain in the race for the last IPL 2025 Playoffs spot alongside Delhi Capitals.
Should they qualify for the last-four stage, MI are set to lose the services of wicket-keeper Ryan Rickelton, all-rounder Will Jacks and seamer Corbin Bosch to their respective international commitments. With two games left in the league stage, MI have announced their three signings for the Playoffs stage, should they qualify for the same by ensuring a win over the Capitals on Wednesday.

Using the temporary replacement rule, Mumbai have signed up Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Sri Lanka T20I skipper Charith Asalanka for the Playoffs, which begins on May 29. The BCCI confirmed that the three players will join the squad if MI secure qualification.

“Jacks will be replaced by English wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow, who will join at a price of INR 5.25 crore.
“English pacer Richard Gleeson will be a replacement for Ryan Rickelton at a reserve price of INR 1 crore. Charith Asalanka will come in as a replacement for Corbin Bosch at a reserve price of INR 75 lakhs,” the IPL statement read.
MI can assure qualification should they beat the Delhi Capitals at home at the Wankhede Stadium in their upcoming match. MI are slated to play their final game against the Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
South Africa keeper Rickelton, named in the squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia, has been an integral member of the side, scoring 336 runs opening the batting alongside Rohit Sharma. Marking a return to the England limited-over side, Jacks has chipped in with 192 runs in 11 games for MI, besides snapping a handful of wickets. Meanwhile, Bosch who made his IPL debut recently, registered 47 runs and a wicket in three outings.
