Soon after the teams finalise their retentions and releases, the IPL will send the franchises the registered pool of players to shortlist from before the final list is sent out, along with the order of the sets, in the week leading into the auction.
The IPL also informed franchises that the player registration window will close on November 23, a week after the retention window shuts. Teams will have until November 27 to make additional requests for players. The final list of registered auction pool along with sets for the auction will be sent to franchises on December 3.
The IPL has not yet finalised the dates for the 2027 season. But, in 2024, while announcing the dates for the following three seasons, it had chalked out the window between March 14 and May 30. However, in September this year, post the BCCI’s AGM, board secretary Devajit Saikia had indicated that the tournament could start around the end of March.
