Manchester United manager Marc Skinner said of Liverpool: “Liverpool are slightly different than they were last season. They’ve always been good, defensively strong, solid defenders of the box. What they’ve added in is counter-attack speed quality. Watching Olivia Smith and watching Leanne Kiernan work together, they’ve been very good. I expect a tough opponent as it always is with Liverpool, with Matt Beard’s teams always. We have to get to our standards quickly. It’s after an international week so I think both managers get their players for two days.”
The team news is in. Both teams will be wearing black armbands in memory of Kath Phipps, a long time employee of Manchester United.
United won’t have Ella Toone involved in the matchday squad as she is out with injury until the new year.
Man Utd: Tullis-Joyce, George, Le Tissier, Clinton, Galton, Riviere, Janssen, Terland, Miyazawa, Turner, Geyse
Liverpool, meanwhile, have no shock inclusions or exclusions with Taylor Hinds leading the side.
Liverpool: Micah, Fisk, Bonner, Matthews, Hinds, Nagano, Shaw, Holland, Enderby, Smith, Kapocs
