Mary Kom’s former husband, Karung Onkholer, also known as Onler, strongly refuted the Indian boxing legend’s claims that he cheated her out of crores earned during her career, took loans in her name, mortgaged her property, and transferred assets without her consent. In a sharp counter, Onler fired back with explosive allegations, claiming that Mary was involved in multiple extramarital affairs.
According to Onler, the alleged affairs date back over a decade. He claimed the first instance occurred in 2013 with a junior boxer, which led to tensions within their families before a compromise was reached. He further alleged that four years later, Mary was involved with another individual associated with her own boxing academy.
“I will talk about what she told Lok Adalat. Firstly, in 2013, she was having an affair with a junior boxer. Our families had a fight, and after that, we compromised. And since 2017, she’s been having a relationship (with someone) working at the Mary Kom Boxing Academy. I have their WhatsApp messages as proof. I have proof, with the name of the person with whom she was having an affair. I remained silent,” Onler was quoted by News18.
Onler clarified that he has no objection to Mary moving on with her personal life but strongly opposed being publicly blamed.
“She wanted to live alone and have another relationship. We’re divorced. I don’t mind if she wants to have another husband. But don’t blame me. If she wants to accuse me, bring proof—bring the papers. I know where she lives and with whom,” he said.
He also hit back at Mary over her allegations of financial wrongdoing, arguing that his current living conditions contradict those claims. “She talked about property and asked for my name to be erased. She said I stole INR 5 crore. Check my account,” he said.
“For 18 years of marriage, we were together. And then this? She’s mad. I lived with her for 18 years. What do I have now? Look at my house. I’m staying in a rented place in Delhi. She’s a celebrity—whatever she says, some people will listen, and some won’t,” he added.
