Michael Carrick has left his role at Middlesbrough’s head after the team finished 10th in the Championship last month.
The former England midfielder had been in charge since October 2022. The club said: “Michael’s assistants Jonathan Woodgate and Graeme Carrick have also departed the club. We’d like thank Michael, Jonathan, and Graeme for all their hard work and unwavering commitment. We wish them all the very best for the future.”
Boro won one of their final six games of the season to finish four points outside the playoff spots. Carrick had led the club to fourth and eighth in his first two seasons and reached the Carabao Cup semi-finals in 2023-24 before losing heavily to Chelsea.
