Sahibzada Farhan’s unbeaten 80 helped Green Shirts successfully chase the target of 129 runs

Pakistan successfully chased the target of 129 runs set by Sri Lanka in the third T20I of the tri-series at Rawalpindi Stadium on Saturday.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan anchored the team and helped them post 131 runs on the score board with his unbeaten 80, he had support from fellow opener Saim Ayub, who scored 20 runs, and former captain Babar Azam with 16 runs.

Captain Salman Ali Agha had another disappointing day when he was out on a duck, while Usman Khan contributed with five runs in the end.

Mohammad Nawaz was named the player of the match for his bowling that contained Sri Lanka to 128/6.

He had the most successful spell among Pakistani bowlers when he took the wickets of Kusal Perera, Dasun Shanaka, and Kamindu Mendis.

Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Salman Mirza each took one wicket as well.

Janith Liyanage was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka with 41 runs, he got support from Perara, who scored 25 runs, while openers Kamil Mishara scored 22 runs, and Pathun Nissanka managed 17 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat.

This is the third match of the series overall. Sri Lanka will be looking to get a win after they had a disappointing game that they played with Zimbabwe on Thursday, which they lost by 67 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe in the opening match of the series on November 18.

Pakistan are playing without their ODI captain, pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi. His absence made way for Mohammad Wasim.

Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that Shaheen Shah Afridi is currently under medical observation after sustaining a minor foot fascial injury before the match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan started.

The injury’s severity and impact on his availability will be determined after further assessment by the medical team, according to details.

Pakistan T20 squad held a rigorous training session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, fine-tuning their skills in preparation for the upcoming match of the Tri-Nation series on Friday.

According to details shared on APP, under the guidance of the coaching staff, the players focused on batting, bowling, and fielding drills, working tirelessly to improve their techniques and strategies.

The players also participated in physical drills, emphasizing fitness and conditionin before the net session.
