The Swans have been really good so far, but they’re not taking the maximum from the attacking chances they’ve generated. Jack Buller and now Joel Amartey have both dropped easy marks inside 50 which would have led to very gettable shots.
At least they’re kicking straight, albeit from a limited sample size so far – but Sydney continue to struggle with their efficiency, just in another way.
All other aspects of their game at the moment are sound, though. Apparently the bookies had them as warm favourites for this one. On this evidence, rightly so. But they need to make it count on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, Michael Frederick, one of Freo’s brightest sparks so far, pushes one wide from the 50-metre arc from a set shot.
