Commentators burst out laughing after jaw-dropping Alcaraz shot in Queen’s Club final

Alcaraz, who was 4-3 down in a tense second-set tiebreak, returned a fierce Lehecka serve before the Czech player produced a well-executed drop shot.

The Spaniard somehow retrieved the shot by sliding across the green surface, before Lehecka pushed a shot down the line.

Despite running at full speed towards his own baseline, Alcaraz hooked the ball from behind his body to lob the ball over a flailing Lehecka.

Alcaraz then cupped his ear to an adulant crowd.

Commentators John Lloyd and Andrew Castle were left stupefied, with Castle saying: “No! Are you kidding? What was that?”

During the ensuing applause from the Queen’s Club crowd, the former professional players turned commentators both burst into laughter.

Castle added: “Can you tell me how he got this?”

Lloyd, who loved what Alcaraz said post-match, replied: “Well, it’s incredible that he picked that up.”
