He’ll head off to warm up soon, but here’s what he had to say about the match so far.
“It’s going to be incredibly difficult, we all know what Iga can do and she is relentless,” de Minaur said.
“The biggest thing for Maya is to do her best to find a way to hang in with her in these sets, and if she can free-up, hopefully the crowd [can give her] energy.
“If Maya can do her best to try and get the first strike in the point, and do her best to rush Iga, it’s not going to be easy, she’s got great wheels, but if she can just try and hang in the rallies and try to focus on rushing her, it might give her some better chance, but it’s going to be a battle.”
Swiatek is now 4-1 up and on serve after securing the double break.
