Wrestler Vinesh Phogat and her husband Somvir Rathee have announced that the couple is expecting their first child in a social media post. Vinesh and Rathee got married in 2018.
Vinesh had retired from wrestling after her heartbreak at the Paris Olympics 2024, where she was disqualified for missing the weight ahead of the final.
In a social media post on Thursday, Vinesh posted a picture of her husband and her with the text: “Our love story continues with a new chapter.”

After announcing retirement from wrestling, Vinesh had joined Congress party.
Vinesh was the face of the wrestlers’ protest against Wrestling federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh along with Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik. Bajrang and Sakshi were the first ones to congratulate Vinesh and Somvir on the Instagram post.
