KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — Besides the latest iPhones, Apple also announced updates to two other major product lines in the Apple Watch series and AirPods.
The new AirPods 5 come at a rather attractive price point, at RM599 despite being an upgrade to the AirPods 4 with up to 50 per cent more noise cancellation.
They also now support responding to Siri via head gestures and of course, promise better sound quality than its predecessor.
For customers who want longer battery life, on-stem volume control and a wireless charging case, there’s a slightly pricier version at RM699.
Pre-orders open on September 11 with availability the same day as the new iPhones — September 18.
Apple Watch Series 12 now offers a new S11 chip and Health Sensing system, with Apple stating that the watch will now record your pulse more frequently for better accuracy.
There’s also better workout and sleep tracking and a new heart rate variability measurement added to the Vitals tab on the Health app.
As for the Apple Watch Ultra 4, there have been no major design changes but the new S11 chip now gives it a full two days worth of battery life.
Apple also announced that according to a study that compared major wearables with Apple’s, the Watch series was found to be more accurate when it came to heart readings compared to the competition.
While the Apple Watch Series 12 will be open for preorder on September 11 and available on September 18 no availability details are known for the Apple Watch Ultra 4 in Malaysia yet.
As for pricing, the Apple Watch Series 12 starts at RM1,799 while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at RM3,699.
