What Novak Djokovic was overheard shouting at his coaching team during third set of his defeat to Jannik Sinner

Novak Djokovic’s Wimbledon campaign is over, cut short at the merciless hands of Jannik Sinner.

Aside from a competitive final set, it was a routine victory for the world number one, who showcased superior physicality and technical quality to move his opponent around the court.

A medical timeout in that third set for the Serbian felt inevitable, especially given there were fears over Djokovic’s fitness heading into the clash.

His movement was compromised, and Jannik Sinner took full advantage, even if his elbow was somewhat hindered too.

Frustration was another expectation for the 24-time Grand Slam champion, who has actually seen his mid-match rant at his box now translated.

Novak Djokovic has never been afraid of voicing his opinion, whether that be on or off the court.

He’s an inspirational figure who has inspired countless people and players, and has made history in whatever walk of life he takes.

However, he’s also an explosive figure, more than happy to voice his displeasure if he feels he has been wronged or is particularly frustrated.

Today must have been a supremely frustrating match, strangled by Sinner all afternoon.

So, his rant to his box can be justified, as he claimed: “Just watch and be quiet, watch and be quiet, don’t say a single word, just watch!”

Jannik Sinner sets up another Grand Slam final with Carlos Alcaraz

It almost feels strange to think that the French Open final marked the first-ever Grand Slam final meeting between Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Now, just over a month later, we have another one at Wimbledon.

It’s the clash that everybody wanted to see, especially after the blockbuster they played out on the Parisian clay.

The hope is that they can capture a fraction of the quality they achieved in that match on Sunday, where a baking hot Centre Court will await the latest chapter in this incredible rivalry.
