The Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has left the club by mutual consent after five years with the club.
Skinner succeeded Casey Stoney at United in July 2021 and led the club to two top-three finishes in the Women’s Super League, earning their first qualification for the Champions League in 2023.
United also reached three successive FA Cup finals under his management, including victory against Tottenham at Wembley in 2024 – the club’s only major trophy to date.
“Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women,” read a club statement. “The club places on record its sincere thanks for his professionalism, commitment and dedication throughout his time at United, and wishes him every success in the future.”
United finished fourth in the WSL last season, missing out on European qualification, and were beaten by Chelsea in the League Cup final in March. They reached the Champions League quarter-finals, exiting to Bayern Munich.
