Like the rest of the tennis world Andre Agassi was thoroughly impressed with Carlos Alcaraz’s French Open title win.
The American had a front-row seat to watch the epic five-hour and 29-minute battle between Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in Paris.
Following the encounter, Andre Agassi awarded the French Open trophy to the Spaniard, 26 years after he was given the same trophy after coming from two sets down to defeat Andrei Medvedev in five sets.
Alcaraz is the first player since Agassi to erase a two-set deficit to win the French Open, further establishing his Grand Slam prowess.

Andre Agassi names what he thinks Carlos Alcaraz’s best surface may be which is ‘shocking’
At the age of just 22, Carlos Alcaraz has showcased his ability to succeed on all surfaces.
He has won Grand Slams on clay, grass and hard courts, and secured his first indoor hard court title at February’s Rotterdam Open.
Alcaraz now has multiple clay court majors and following Sunday’s classic final Agassi named what he thinks the World number two’s best surface is, and he did not say clay.
“Alcaraz’s best surface to me, shockingly, would be between here and Wimbledon,” Agassi told TNT Sports. “I’d actually say grass might be his best surface, and the reason why I’d say grass is his best surface has nothing to do with his swings.
“It has to do with the less diminishing speed that happens to him than other players. And his strength of legs, his balance of getting under the ball.
“I mean, you gotta remember this guy has defence and speed like Novak, if not more. He has the feel like Federer, you could argue if not more at times. He has RPMs in pace like Rafa. You could argue maybe even more.”
