Asian Games 2026 Full India Results Day 9: Ancy Sojan, Sarvesh Kushare and squash bring four silver medals

Abhay Singh and Ananat Singh both brought silver medals for India after going down in their respective squash finals at the Asian Games. The hopes were high for the duo to bring home gold, but it wasn’t meant to be, as they lost in the gold-medal match. Abhay Singh lost to Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia in the men’s singles gold medal match, while Anahat went down against Sivasangari Subramaniam of Malaysia in the women’s singles gold medal match. However, Anahat became the first Indian to win a medal in the women’s singles squash event at the Asian Games.

Ancy Sojan brought a silver medal for India in athletics after finishing second in the women’s long jump event. She led for most of the contest, but the Chinese opponent clinched gold on her sixth and final attempt. Sarvesh Kushare also won silver in the men’s high jump. On the other hand, Tejaswin Shankar and Parul Chaudhary also came third, clinching bronze in the men’s decathlon and women’s 3000m steeplechase, respectively.

Earlier, the Indian contingent received a big blow at the Asian Games on Sunday after PV Sindhu crashed out of the women’s competition. The ace shuttler lost to China’s Chen Yufei 21-11, 18-21, 10-21 in the quarter-finals.

Tanisha Crasto-Dhruv Kapila lost to Huang Dongping-Feng Yan Zhe of China in mixed doubles quarterfinals.
