89 min: Game of two halves and all; this has been a remarkable game.
The move begins with a corner, the ball finding Bühl out on the left. She’s the architect once again as she whips in a cross and the captain, Viggosdottir, sticks her right boot out to guide the ball in. It’s a cracking finish. Bühl has a hat-trick of assists!

84 min: Arsenal have thrown this away after that brilliant first-half. Mead is off; Olivia Smith is on.
Bühl is the creator once again out on the left, pinging a pass into the middle; the onrushing Harder takes an excellent first touch, the ball bobbling up. She’s inside the D as she puts her left foot through it, the ball dipping viciously to drop into the top right corner. Van Domselaar doesn’t bother moving.

79 min: Catley pinged a lovely ball down the left channel before Bayern’s goal; she tries it again but overhits.
78 min: Arsenal’s Maanum gives the ball away cheaply with a wayward pass … but so does Bayern’s Stanway not long after.
77 min: Cooney-Cross carries Arsenal forward as they enjoy a spell of low-tension possession.
75 min: McCabe and Pelova are off; Hinds and Cooney-Cross are on for Arsenal.
74 min: Pelova pulls the shirt of the turning Tanikawa in midfield, another sign that Arsenal are losing their way.
73 min: Harder has space out on the right and plays a teasing cross … but Van Domselaar collects.
71 min: Tanikawa launches a low, stinging shot that nearly catches out Van Domselaar, who deals with it, although a touch awkwardly. Bayern are buzzing forward now.
70 min: Arsenal have really stepped off in this half, perhaps just a natural response after the shift they put in during the first.
It’s an excellent counter from Bayern, with Bühl dancing down the left. She lays it across goal for the sub Alara, who thunders forward into space and very calmly slots it low past Van Domselaar.

64 min: The game has entered a brief lull; Arsenal’s press has relented a touch but Bayern aren’t taking advantage of it.
62 min: Schüller and Dallmann are off, with Alara and Caruso on for Bayern. Harder is on, too, actually, replacing Damnjanovic.
61 min: Kelly whips in a very decent ball out from the right and is unfortunate it doesn’t lead to a proper chance.
59 min: It’s Arsenal who make the first subs: Kelly and Maanum are in, with Blackstenius and Foord off.
58 min: Caldentey dribbles through midfield to get Arsenal moving and building down the left; they’re faced with a wall of red shirts on the edge of the area. Mead’s low cross from the right doesn’t bring any danger.
55 min: Russo is very much on the hunt; she forces Grohs to make a fine save to her left after a piledriver from range.
54 min: Foord tries to find McCabe on the overlap, but the former doesn’t put enough power on the ball.
53 min: Arsenal work it nicely from left to right, the move ending with Russo swinging her foot from just outside the area; she miscues, a lack of power helping Grohs collect.
50 min: It’s now Arsenal who are camped in their own half as Stanway dinks a lovely ball out to the right, with Gwinn whipping in a cross. The visitors must resist now; a hyped-up Dallmann takes down Mead on the edge of the Bayern area.
49 min: Bayern have a free-kick from the right, whipped into the area nicely by Bühl … but it’s cleared away. Nonetheless, Bayern look a little more alive this half.
47 min: Bayern go long and it leads to a chance … Schüller’s shot is blocked but the flag is up.
46 min: And we’re back. Arsenal kick-off after gathering for a huddle. Both sides are unchanged …
The gameplan has been delivered with no hiccups: Arsenal have pressed high and not allowed Bayern any flow, with the hosts dominating possession but simply too slow when moving it. Mariona Caldentey has been a key part of that press and she walloped in that second goal, too. The interplay between Beth Mead, Stina Blackstenius and Alessia Russo has been delightful.

44 min: Fox, Mead and Caldentey combine delightfully to set up a cross from the right: Mead delivers but Bayern escape.
42 min: Caldentey has been marvellous tonight. She’s hassled constantly when Arsenal have been off the ball. The goal was pretty tidy, too.
40 min: Tanikawa wins the ball in midfield … but here’s Bayern’s problem again: rather than ping it forward, she turns back towards her goal and the hosts must build once again from the back. They need to be a little more direct here.
