Dan Evans thinks Novak Djokovic can win the 2025 Wimbledon title

Evans saw firsthand how well Novak Djokovic is playing during their second round match at Wimbledon.

After a competitive first set, Djokovic pulled away and lost just two more games for the remainder of the three-set encounter.

Following their match and what he has seen from Djokovic in the two matches since, Evans thinks the 38-year-old is in position to win Wimbledon again.

“I think after yesterday’s performance he will take a lot of confidence from beating De Minaur, he was definitely one of the better grass court players in the world,” Evans told talkSPORT.

“I think he’ll definitely have watched that match last night [between Sinner and Dimitrov] and taken something from it. I think he will be sat happy, eating dinner last night. I think he’s looking good.

“I can see him winning it. Alcaraz hasn’t been perfect so far this year. He has also played a lot of tennis. So I think Novak is in a good spot really. I think it’s set up for a great end to Wimbledon.”

Novak Djokovic delivers health update after beating Alex de Minaur at Wimbledon

Djokovic made serene progress through to the Wimbledon round of 16 and looked imperious throughout his third round match against Miomir Kecmanović.

But the first set was a difficult one for the 38-year-old, which he lost 1-6, and he was seen undertaking yoga and breathing exercises, while also applying ice to his stomach during breaks in play.

Djokovic appeared to shrug off any discomfort to produce a comeback victory, and he was somewhat vague when describing how he was feeling physically.

“I don’t know how I’m feeling, to be honest. It wasn’t a great start for me,” the sixth seed said post-match.

“I was very pleased to hang in tough in the right moments and win this one.” Djokovic will play Italy’s Flavio Cobolli in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
