A bullocking Matthew Timoko gets another strong Raiders set underway and it finishes with the game’s first points, second-rower Simi Sasagi outleaping Kalyn Ponga to bring down an Ethan Strange bomb and come up with a try.
The try comes immediately after Newcastle finished a set with their own bomb, that wasn’t challenged by any Knights chases – including towering winger Dom Young. It’s a long-time tactic for the Knights, but the Raiders’ old-school approach has made them the most dangerous team from kicks this year.
