Satwik-Chirag, Singapore Open 2025 Badminton Quarterfinal Live Updates: SatChi get underway against world No 1 Izzuddin-Goh

Satwik-Chirag brace for stern test from new world No 1 pair

After an unexpected turn of events at last week’s Malaysia Masters, the Singapore Open has seen a return to the now usual scene for Indian badminton. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are the sole remaining Indian contenders. The former world No. 1 men’s doubles pair were the only Indians to secure a victory in Thursday’s second round.

Making their return to the World Tour, Satwik and Chirag displayed remarkable resilience to overcome the seventh-seeded Indonesian duo of Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in a gruelling 74-minute match, winning 19-21, 21-16, 21-1.
