A disappointing end to the match for Bangladesh, who would have been hoping to really put the fight to the Australians in this match, but they will learn a lot from that match. Nigar led the way with the bat, but will be working on reducing her dot balls in future matches. Marufa looks like an incredibly exciting prospect with the ball, who is likely to go from strength to strength over the next few years. Nigar was disappointed, but hopeful in the post-match interview.

“We are better than this, we know that,” she said. “We really wanted to put a score on the board to give our bowlers a chance.”

It was a clinical performance from Australia, with early wickets and suffocating bowling restricting Bangladesh to a low total. They used seven bowlers, who all looked strong, with the wickets spread between five bowlers. Voll dominated with the bat, which will be a relief to her after a four-ball duck against South Africa.

Molineux was full of praise for her bowlers in the post-match interview.

“Kimmy up the front got her shape and bowled beautifully and everyone who bowled after that did their job,” she said. “Perry is always chipping away at her game and these conditions really suit her. We’re so blessed to have so many options.”

Australia’s next game is on Saturday against the Netherlands, while Bangladesh play Pakistan later that day.
