Jack Sock and Steve Johnson agree on who’ll win more Grand Slams out of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in their career

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz once again proved why they are the world’s two best players.

The pair faced one another in Sunday’s Wimbledon final, which is the second time in a row they have contested a Grand Slam championship match.

Alcaraz produced a remarkable comeback to win the French Open final, but Sinner took some revenge by overcoming his rival at the All-England Club.

The Italian now has four Grand Slam titles to his name, while Alcaraz has five, as this race will only continue to intensify.

Jack Sock and Steve Johnson think Jannik Sinner will win more Grand Slams than Carlos Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have firmly established themselves as the world’s best players.

They have won the last seven Grand Slams and their level of shotmaking, athleticism and consistency, has been too much for their rivals to handle.

Sinner had lost his last five meetings against Alcaraz prior to the Wimbledon final, but he ended that streak with an impressive four-set win at SW19.

After Sinner claimed his first Wimbledon title, the Nothing Major Podcast discussed him and Alcaraz and thinks the world number one will win more majors than the Spaniard by the end of their careers.

“I think I am going to slightly edge with Sinner on this one,” co-host Jack said. “I think I see him in Australia winning some of those. US Open. Wimbledon.

“I think he is going to be a tough out for the next 10 years, or however long he plays. He showed on clay, I mean he had him. I think I am going to go with Sinner but honestly I don’t even know.”

Steve Johnson added: “I think Sinner ends up with more just based on the body of work for the last two years. He does not lose to anyone but Carlos. Carlos has these moments in matches where he just loses.

“Like last year I think he lost the second round at the US Open. Sinner is not doing that. It’s not on the cards.

“If he is going to lose he is going to lose to Carlos playing better than him, maybe somebody like Novak or somebody like that and other than that I don’t see him losing to anyone in a three out of five.

“I am just going to assume he is going to be in the backend of tournaments at the moment, just because Carlos has the ability to lose.”

Carlos Alcaraz gives his rivalry with Jannik Sinner high praise

Sinner and Alcaraz nner and Alcaraz have illustrated how evenly matched they are on the court, which is reflected in the statistics.

Only four of their 13 career meetings have ended in straight sets and over the past two seasons, Sinner has won 10 titles while Alcaraz has claimed nine.

The two players already have 41 titles between them and they look to continue battling one another for years to come.

“I think it’s great for us and for tennis. Every time we play against each other, I think our level is really high,” Alcaraz said.

“I don’t see any player playing against each other having the level that we are playing when we face each other.”
