Championship full-time scores
Ahead of tonight’s games between Tottenham and Brighton plus Chelsea v Manchester United, here’s the Premier League table.
Full-time: Leeds 3-0 Wolves
A huge win for Leeds, back to back wins taking them to 39 points. Wolves could be down by 9pm this evening if Tottenham beat Brighton.
It’s full-time at Reading and Cardiff’s players are celebrating going back to the Championship. In League Two, a late Harrogate goal against Colchester has delayed relegation, and given the Yorkshire club a chance of survival.
Full-time: Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth
Another home defeat for Newcastle, and Bournemouth make a huge leap with that winner coming from Truffert.
Cardiff promoted to the Championship
League One: Exeter have equalised against Stockport and that will send Cardiff up. The goal came in the 96th minute from Jack Bycroft. That sends Cardiff up as it’s full-time at Exeter.
Goal! Leeds 3-0 Wolves (Calvert-Lewin, 90+5)
VAR confirms the penalty, and Calvert-Lewin sends Leeds nine points clear.
Penalty to Leeds!
Bueno fouls Calvert-Lewin, a shove in the back. Which Bueno? Santiago or Hugo. There’s a VAR check on it.
In the Premier League, there’s 10 minutes added on at Leeds, and nine at Newcastle. There’s 10 added on at Stevenage, too. Haven’t these people got homes to go to?
In League One, it’s Stevenage 2-2 Lincoln, so that means that the Imps need a winner to confirm their title.
Another big goal in the Championship, as Southampton continue to march on, Cameron Archer’s volley is deflected in and they lead 2-1 at Swansea, and they are on course for seven wins in a row.
On the Bundesliga, Roger Kirkby gets in touch: “Hi John, with Dortmund losing today, unless they score more than 49 goals in their last 4 matches, Harry Kane will have another title medal in his back pocket.”
Cardiff now lead 3-1 at Reading, and are surely heading up to the Championship after Perry Ng’s goal. Stockport would have to make up 24 goals on them. That seems unlikely.
Goal! Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth (Truffert, 85)
Oh no, Newcastle. They had all the play and then Tavernier lays up Evanilson, who supplies Adrien Truffert with his first goal for Bournemouth.
Leeds 2-0 Wolves: This game may not finish for a while. An assistant referees has to be replaced by the fourth official, and it took ages to rig up the tech. That was not popular among fans; it was shambolic stuff. Adam Armstrong has the ball in the net for Wolves but is ruled offside.
The Marie-Louise Eta regime got off to a bad start with Union Berlin beaten by Wolfsburg 2-1.
West Brom now lead Preston 2-0, with Daryl Dike scoring. Grim for Leicester and Oxford, and that could buy the Baggies breathing space with a points deduction still to be decided.
Hull 1-1 Birmingham is the latest Championship score, with Iwata getting it, and that offers an opening to the playoffs for Wrexham. In League One, Stockport lead 3-2 at Exeter, Odin Bailey getting it, off the bench. That would deny the Cardiff promotion, though only mathematically.
Leeds 2-0 Wolves: There’s a delay in play as Krejci goes down, and medical treatment is asked.
Reading have a goal back, to slow the Cardiff celebrations, Daniel Kyerewaa getting it.
Huge League Two goal! Barnet are winning 2-1 at Notts County, which means Bromley are going up for the second season in succession.
Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth: Bruno’s arrival has changed things, as those expectant fans wanted.
Goal stands! Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth, and that’s because the ball is played by Evanilson rather than Bruno. There’s a very long wait for VAR, over three minutes, and it’s given.
Goal! Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth (Osula, 68)
A brilliant ball from Bruno, an even better finish from Osula, scorer of spectacular goals…Bournemouth think it’s offside. Did Jimenez play him onside. It’s tight….
Leeds 2-0 Wolves: Karl Darlow makes a fine save to preserve Leeds’ advantage, with Ladislav Krejci’s header asking for a fingertip save.
Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth: The return of Bruno Guimarães lifts spirits at Newcastle, with Jacob Ramsey going off. Jacob Murphy is on for Anthony Elanga.
Another goal for Patrick Bamford has Sheffield United leading 2-0 at Watford.
Southampton have just equalised against Swansea, with Shea Charles getting it. That keeps Saints alive in the search for automatic promotion.
Cardiff have just got a second, and now lead 2-0 at Reading, with Omari Kellyman getting the goal. They are surely heading up.
Some footage on social media of Harry Winks, the Leicester midfielder, and an altercation with a fan – a verbal altercation – that speaks to a club in tailspin after defeat at Portsmouth.
Goals in the EFL, Patrick Bamford has made it 1-0 for Sheffield United at Watford, while at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday are losing 1-0 to Charlton, Matt Godden scoring. The Owls’ horror run without a win continues. It could go to 38, a full season in the Premier League, which could not be further away. Mohamed Toure has just equalised for Norwich against Bristol City. Mansfield 2-2 Luton, Shayden Morris has scored for Jack Wilshere’s team.
Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth: Lewis Hall has gone off for Newcastle at half-time, with Tino Livramento now facing the dangerous Rayan, as Kieran Trippier comes on.
Back underway in the second halves….
More Jeremy Boyce: “Another tricky afternoon for Eddie Howe in front of a disgruntled mass of Toon fans, who’d all been led to expect more than this. Being done over at home is never nice, especially not when it’s your former club. An experience we may see again later this afternoon courtesy of De Zerbi and his hot Spurs ? And they’re not alone in possibly regretting giving up a good job on the south coast in order to take up the reins at a “big club”.
“Ask Graham Potter. Taking the King’s shilling is easily done when you’re in the right mood and situation, but actually swallowing it is much more difficult. Bournemouth are a great example of a football club run on sensible principles for many years, with a long term plan and accompanying strategy. Whereas Noocassle UK PLC were sold down the Swanee to a bunch of money people by likeable Amanda Staveley. Say no more. Wor Jackie must be spinning in his grave.”

Championship half-times
Half-time: Leeds 2-0 Wolves
Leeds are in the driving seat, and Wolves might well be relegated by the end of this evening.
Half-time: Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth
The Cherries lead through Marcus Tavernier’s goal and it could have been more.
Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth: Petrovic, the Cherries keeper, saves a certain goal by scrambling the ball to safety.
Goal! Reading 0-1 Cardiff (Colwill, 40) Big goal for Cardiff. They are not mathematically up but it would be almost certain if that result held.
Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth: The visitors are the more likely, with Evanilson going close, with Bournemouth’s attackers causing all sorts of trouble.
Leeds 2-0 Wolves: Tim Smith gets in touch to say: “A little harsh to say Justin’s goal “ went through” Bentley. He’d just made a great save and then was unsighted for a point blank overhead kick. Blame the defending all you want on that one. Oh and come on Leeds!”
Jeremy Boyce: “Daniel Farke must be feeling a huge amount of pressure lifting from his shoulders, and enjoying a sense of security/redemption as the goal go in. Lest we forget, he’s not always been able to keep a promoted side up in the Promis£d Land, and had some serious talking to do to persuade the current Leeds Powers That Be to give him the job for this season. He seems to be sorted as regards keeping them up, and has just steered them to an FA Cup semi (where they face schizophrenic Chelsea), and a famous away win at Old Trafford, the hated trans-Pennine rival. He’s a genuinely likeable and intelligent bloke and I’m as happy for him as I am for the good citizens of of Leeds Metropole. Maybe now they’ll get their tramway, and it will run out to Elland Road ? That would be a REAL plus. “
Championship: Wrexham lead Stoke 2-0, which keeps their dimming playoff hopes alive
League One: Stockport lead 2-1 at Exeter, thus delaying the Cardiff promotion.
League Two: Notts County are losing to Barnet, which may delay Bromley’s promotion. Scratch that, it’s 1-1 Jodi Jones converting from the spot. So Bromley are on course.
